I am a qualitymancer from beyond the data-sphere, but you can call me Niko.

I am one of the co-founders of Hidden Trail: the company where the masters of digital product quality gather.

At heart I’ve always been, and will always remain, a tester. A curious mind helps me find the things that really matter, solve the problems worth solving. I help teams find better quality by asking better questions, building useful feedback loops, and using relevant tooling from automation to AI.

I know modern agile testing practices inside out. Sometimes that means turning requirements into test automation in an Acceptance Test Driven Development style. Sometimes it means exploratory testing, CI/CD feedback, pairing with developers, or helping people squash nasty bugs before the bugs squash them.

Quality is forged in a fire of questions. Who is this for? What do they need? Why do they need it? Do they need it? What could fail? What if the happy path is lying? The earlier we ask, the sooner we catch mistakes in logic, product risk, and assumptions.

I am also deep into digital product quality for AI and agentic systems: how to build quality into them, how to test them, and how to keep their behavior useful, observable, and safe enough to trust. When I’m not bathing in the light of the screen in the darkness of my coding corner, I am a father and a husband, owner of two fluffy cats, a gamer, and a bookworm, especially fond of devouring interesting sci-fi and fantasy masterpieces.

This site is where I collect notes from that edge of the datasphere: digital quality, AI, coding and development practices, small projects, some more useful than others, secure defaults, and the practical knowledge of how well written code can feel like wizardry.
